“There Is No Place Like Home”

Everyone is back on campus after having a few days off for Thanksgiving! It was a much-welcomed break… I spent mine catching up on sleep!

Before heading home for Thanksgiving Break, the ladies of Blossom Hall celebrated Thanksgiving together. With the help of our floor moms and the moms of our RA’s, Blossom’s residence staff provided us with an incredible Thanksgiving feast! There was so much food, and it was all extremely delicious! It was a great way to spend a Sunday evening—laughing, eating, bonding. I am so thankful for all of the hard work that went into such a great event.

Enjoying our Thanksgiving meal!

As a freshman, my house was my home and my parents were my family. Though they still are, after three years of being at Malone, I no longer have just one home or one family—Malone has become a second home to me; my friends have become my second family. Most people associate Thanksgiving with family, and that is why this Thanksgiving feast in Blossom was so fitting. Thanksgiving is a time to spend with the ones you love; it is a time of reflection and gratitude; it is an occasion of bonding and quality time, which is exactly how this event was! It is such a blessing to live in a community with “family” in a place that truly is like “home!”

Thanksgiving Break is over; however, I just keep telling myself that Christmas Break is only 3 weeks away! These coming weeks will be tough, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!
